Proposed Bill Eliminates Court of Criminal Appeals:

On March 12, 2009, Senator Gallegos (D-Houston) proposed SB 1993, which would amend the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure and Government Code to eliminate the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and transfer jurisdiction over criminal cases to the Texas Supreme Court. http://www.legis.state.tx.us/tlodocs/81R/billtext/pdf/SB01993I.pdf (last visited Mar. 13, 2009).
